K-State Animal Poison Control Hotline - (785) 532-5679.  K-State's College of Veterinary Medicine has a free, 24-hour animal poison control hotline that puts worried pet owners and other veterinarians in touch with three K-State veterinary toxicologists.

The Dogs' Spot Dog Training Center.  The community spot for dogs and the people who love them.  Keep an eye on the Community Events section for information about a speaker's series of interest to dog owners!

Northland Animal Welfare Society (NAWS) – building a future for homeless and abused Northland Animals.  NAWS’ primary goal is to build a state-of-the art animal shelter to serve Clay and Platte Counties. 

 

Disaster Animal Response Team (DART) – Members learn how to prepare their families, help their community be better prepared, and rescue and shelter animals when a disaster or crisis happens in their community.  Based in Independence, Missouri, DART recruits and trains members from the entire Kansas City Metropolitan area who are interested in ensuring that animals are taken into account in future disaster planning as mandated by the Pets Evacuation and Transportation Standards Act (PETS Act). 

 

Northland Pet Pantry - The mission of the Northland Pet Pantry is to provide free food and basic supplies for the companion pets of people who are struggling financially.  Their vision is to keep loved companion animals from becoming homeless. 

 

Companion Pet Rescue – Local rescue group that strives to find the perfect home for each animal in their care.
